Platt Family Scholarship
Scholarship is open to students who were full-time, undergraduate students in an American college or university during the Spring semester. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to Abraham Lincoln.

Platt Family Scholarship Prize Essay Contest
The Lincoln Forum
This scholarship essay contest is for full-time undergraduate students at American colleges or universities. To apply, applicants must submit an essay addressing the topic, "Lincoln and the Hard Hand of War." To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have been enrolled as full-time college students during the spring 2014 semester. Applicants do not need to be American citizens to apply as long as they are attending an American college or university during the eligibility period.
Award: $500-$1500

Topic for 2013 – "Lincoln and Gettysburg: Expectations, Reactions, Consecrations"
2013 is the 150th anniversary of both the Battle of Gettysburg, and of Lincoln's most famous speech there. Why do these events resonate so much with Americans today? What was it about either the battle or the speech that made them timeless?
The scholarship essay contest is designed for students who are FULL TIME, undergraduate students in an AMERICAN COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY during the Spring 2013 semester. The July 31 deadline is designed to give these students time to finish their essays, if need be, after final exams.
1st Prize $1500 | 2nd Prize $750 | 3rd Prize $500
