2015 Algebra Academy begins Monday June 29 - Register Today!

The University of Arizona would like to invite you to participate in the Algebra Academy for students entering into 9th grade. The four-week program will begin on Monday, June 29 and will occur at The University of Arizona and will have students develop an understanding of algebra that they can build upon to achieve success in future math courses and on their path to a university education. The four-week program costs $100, only $25 per week. Students who successfully complete the program earn a graphing calculator valued at over $130 and can possibly earn high school elective credit. This scholarship is for students who are enrolling as incoming college freshmen or sophomores on a full-time basis. William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students

Aspen Institute

This fellowship is for graduate and undergraduate minority students from underrepresented communities of color. To qualify, applicants should have an excellent academic record and the following: demonstrated interest or experience in nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and the social sector; excellent research and writing skills; demonstrated financial need; and US citizenship or permanent residency. Students must be able to work as interns for 12-15 weeks in the Washington, DC office of the Aspen institute during the academic semester in which the fellowship is awarded. American Legion Baseball Scholarship

This scholarship is for high school baseball players who are on the American Legion National Baseball roster that has been filed with national headquarters. Applicants must be a part of a team affiliated with an American Legion Post. The scholarship may be used to attend an a state accredited, post-secondary school. Any team manager or head coach of an American Legion (Post-affiliated) team may nominate one player for consideration of this award. Applicants must have three letters of recommendation, one each from the following: legion coach or team manager; American Legion Post Commander or Adjutant; and a community leader (i.e., teacher, minister, scout leader, church leader, principal). Each department baseball committee will select a player from their department to receive this scholarship. AT&T Savings Scholarship

This scholarship contest is for incoming college freshman and current college freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Incoming freshman applicants must have taken either the ACT or SAT; graduate or earn a GED; and enroll for fall 2013 at an accredited two- or four-year college or university. These scholarships are for members of Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) who are graduating high school seniors or currently college students in good standing. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must be pursuing a degree focused on information technology at an accredited four-year college or university. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, exhibit leadership through academic or civic involvement, and participate in community service activities. L.I.F.E. Scholarship

Lupus Inspiration Foundation for Excellence (LIFE)

This scholarship is for students who have been diagnosed with systematic lupus erythematosus (SLE). To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be working towards a degree with a minimum of six credits per semester at an accredited US college or university. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be involved in at least one extracurricular activity (e.g., performance group, athletics, groups/organizations, community service, employment, etc.).
