The Earn to Learn Program is available for those starting college in 2016 or 2017 (currently high school juniors or seniors or community college students).

Earn to Learn is a partnership with Arizona’s three state universities (Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and University of Arizona) and utilizes federal and university funding.

2015 Algebra Academy begins Monday June 29 - Register Today!

The University of Arizona would like to invite you to participate in the Algebra Academy for students entering into 9th grade. The four-week program will begin on Monday, June 29 and will occur at The University of Arizona and will have students develop an understanding of algebra that they can build upon to achieve success in future math courses and on their path to a university education. The four-week program costs $100, only $25 per week. Students who successfully complete the program earn a graphing calculator valued at over $130 and can possibly earn high school elective credit. To reserve one of 30 spaces in the program, please review attached documents and call 626-2300. Thank you!

Some bullet points regarding the program:
·         4 weeks, 4 days a week, June 29 through July 23

·         Hands-on, small group activities that help students understand fundamental algebraic concepts

·         Class of 35 students, to maximize student understanding

·         $100 program fee, just $25 per week.  Students who successfully complete the program can possibly receive high school elective credit and a $130 TI-84 Plus Silver Edition graphing calculator.

·         Beyond mathematical  content the Algebra Academy offers preparation for high school, planning for college and exploring of careers.

Eligibility: Seniors (or current full time college students) who are Arizona residents and are planning on enrolling full time (12 credits) at ASU, NAU, or UA for Fall 2015. Employees and family members of Arizona Milk Producers are not eligible. Requirements: Students must submit entries including name, complete address, and telephone number along with a milk mustache photo of yourself (be creative), simply upload your photo to Instagram and tag @azmilkproducers using the hashtag #ampscholarship and #ASU, #NAU, #UofA to designate which prize drawing you would like to be entered into. 3 contestants will be drawn each week for each university.

Award: $12,000 towards college expenses, tickets to home U of A, ASU and NAU football games, VIP tickets to the Fiesta Bowl.

UA American Indian Alumni Scholarship Program

Their mission is to support American Indian Alumni of The University of Arizona (UA) by providing networking opportunities, serving as a liaison between the University and our alumni membership, and by recognizing personal and professional achievement of our membership. In addition, AIA supports American Indian students at the UA through mentorship, community service and the provision of scholarship opportunities.

UA Alumni Association scholarships are awarded in two categories: Merit-based — to attract and retain students of exceptional academic quality, and need-based — for students who demonstrate great financial need. (Need-based scholarship applicants must complete a free application for federal student aid.)

Arizona Assurance Scholars Program

The Arizona Assurance Scholars Program at The University of Arizona (UA) is a financial aid program for low-income students in the state of Arizona. The program is designed to assist students by providing both financial aid and support services to successfully attain their bachelor's degree. The Arizona Assurance Program partners with college and departments on campus to provide scholars with comprehensive programming from their freshmen year through their senior year, so that they are able to have a smooth transition into and out of the university upon graduation. The mission of Arizona Assurance is achieved through first year transition programming, mentoring, leadership, and career development, graduate/professional school preparation and cultural enrichment.

Award: All unmet financial need after grants and work/study, and some loans are awarded.

New Name for Rio Nuevo Contest

The "New Name for Rio Nuevo Contest" begins at 5:30 pm on December 10,and ends at 12 noon on January 10, 2013. 

RIO NUEVO is looking to the next generation of Tucson citizens to help us find a new name!

Only Pima County high school seniors are eligible to enter. The new name must reflect Tucson's culture as well as our high hopes for the future.

There will be six semi-finalists, who will each receive a $500 cash scholarship to be used towards the college of your choice. And, if you choose to attend Pima Community College or the University of Arizona, your scholarship will be matched dollar for dollar at those schools.

The winner, will receive a $1,000 cash scholarship and again, the U of A and PCC will match it.

Flinn Merit Scholarship for Arizona Students

Eligibility: High School Seniors graduating before July 2014, U.S. citizen and an Arizona resident, earn 1300 cumulative score on SAT Math and Reading or a 29 cumulative on the ACT, have a 3.5 or better GPA, rank in the top 5% of the class, and exhibit substantive extracurricular involvement and demonstrate leadership.

Requirements: Complete on line application including two teacher recommendations.

Award: Tuition, room and board, and fees for four years at UA/ASU/NAU--plus a study abroad program.

GLORIA FEIGENBAUM SCHOLARSHIP FOR WOMEN RETURNING TO SCHOOL

PURPOSE:
The Gloria Feigenbaum Scholarship was created by the family, friends and associates at
University of Arizona and Tucson in memory of Gloria Feigenbaum, an active faculty member and
champion for women’s rights during her career at The University of Arizona.  She was a member of
the committee to form the original Tucson Women’s Commission and was appointed to serve on the
first Arizona Women’s Commission.  Gloria Feigenbaum was also the founder of the Youth
University at UA, and creatively sought to involve young and old in the continuation of education
on the college campus.

ELIGIBILITY:
This scholarship was created to provide support for women who have previously attended
college, but have had to interrupt their education for two or more years.  Candidates must apply and
be accepted at the University of Arizona as either full- or part- time students and demonstrate
FAFSA financial need
.
VALUE:
$1,500 scholarship awarded for the 2013-2014 academic year.

APPLICATION PROCESS:
Submit all application documents as one completed package by June 15, 2013.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
The documents necessary for application are the following:

2. Personal essay – maximum 2 pages – describing the circumstances that led to
