Flinn Scholars SCHOLARSHIP

The Flinn Scholarship Program provides an unparalleled package for undergraduate study at an Arizona public university for 20 of Arizona’s highest-achieving high school seniors each year. The merit-based scholarship program, now 31 classes strong, covers the cost of tuition, fees, room and board and at least two study-abroad experiences. The overall financial package is valued at more than $115,000.

The Arizona Community Foundation

The Arizona Community Foundation allows high school seniors and current college students throughout Arizona to apply for more than 90 scholarship awards online with one general application.

High school seniors, current college students, or graduate level students attending schools anywhere in the U.S. can apply. The general application process begins in January each year and students are advised to apply early to qualify for the most awards. Some award deadlines begin in February and some deadlines are as late as May. Scholarships are available for two-year and four-year colleges and universities as well as technical and vocational schools.

Otto and Edna Neely Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is for seniors at the following high schools in Arizona: Apache Junction, Basha, Camp Verde, Chandler, Desert Ridge, Gilbert, Hamilton, Highland, Higley, Mesquite, Perry, Queen Creek, and Williams Field. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better, have a demonstrated financial need, be residents of Arizona, and be US citizens. Academic students must attend an academic college within the state of Arizona, enroll full-time and complete 12 hours or more each semester in classes toward a degree program. Technical students must attend a public or not-for-profit technical school within the state of Arizona and enroll and complete a full-time course load each grading period toward a degree or certificate program. Deadlines are set by each individual high school; see your guidance counselor for more details.

Eligibility: Seniors (or current full time college students) who are Arizona residents and are planning on enrolling full time (12 credits) at ASU, NAU, or UA for Fall 2015. Employees and family members of Arizona Milk Producers are not eligible. Requirements: Students must submit entries including name, complete address, and telephone number along with a milk mustache photo of yourself (be creative), simply upload your photo to Instagram and tag @azmilkproducers using the hashtag #ampscholarship and #ASU, #NAU, #UofA to designate which prize drawing you would like to be entered into. 3 contestants will be drawn each week for each university.

Award: $12,000 towards college expenses, tickets to home U of A, ASU and NAU football games, VIP tickets to the Fiesta Bowl.

Flinn Foundation Scholarships

Every year, the Flinn Scholars program provides 20 of Arizona's highest-achieving students an unparalleled package for undergraduate study. In partnership with Arizona's three state universities, the program develops enriched educational experiences to expand Scholars' life and career options, while creating the challenging educational environment that students experience at the nation's most selective colleges.

The scholarship helps students achieve their most ambitious educational goals by underwriting tuition and living expenses and providing an allowance for international study. Flinn Scholar recipients are not required to identify a specific curriculum, major, or course of study. However, they are expected to sustain, if not exceed, the levels of academic and personal achievement that first earned them the scholarship by contributing to the creation of new knowledge and achieving their highest potential.

Pima County Youth Arts Award

The Pima County Youth Arts Award (PCYAA) is an awards program designed to identify, recognize and encourage talented high school seniors within Pima County who demonstrate excellence in the following disciplines: Dance, Music, Theater, Visual Arts, Media Arts, or Literary Arts. The PCYAA is an opportunity for young adults to showcase their talents and secure funds for educational costs at Pima Community College. Scholarships are typically made in the $1,000 to $2,000 range. Awards are made possible through collaboration between the Pima Community College Foundation and the Tucson Pima Arts Council.

Alisa's Angels Scholarship

The Alisa’s Angels Foundation awards four $2500 scholarships to Arizona graduating seniors to help youth who are helping others. They award these scholarships in memory of Alisa, who established a legacy of helping and caring for people because she believed “that is what we were put on earth to do”. The scholarships are awarded to youth who demonstrate the same spirit through service to others.

Arizona Elks Vocational Grant Award

This grant award is available to any graduating Senior High School student planning to pursue an eligible Vocational/Technical Course, above and supplemental to High School or Preparatory School, may apply . In addition to being a U.S. Citizen, each applicant must be a current resident of the State of Arizona on the date this application is filed.

Tucson College Night at the Tucson Convention Center - Oct. 22!!

Tucson College Night! A week from today! Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Tucson Convention Center, Tucson, Arizona. This event is sponsored by the Tucson Unified School District. Over 200 college representatives from all over the United States will be present to talk to students and parents, answer questions and hand out materials.

Horatio Alger Arizona Scholarship Program

The Horatio Alger Arizona Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in the State of Arizona who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.

To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger Arizona Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in Arizona; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2014 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation 
• Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution) 
• Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required) 
• Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities 
• Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity 
• Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 
• Be a resident of Arizona; and 
• Be a United States citizen

Arizona Dream Scholars Program

The Scholarship offered by the Arizona Dream Scholars Program provides funding for:

• Tuition 
• Fees 
• Books 
• Room and Board 

Dream Scholars receive a $4,000 scholarship ($1000 each year for up to four years) to help complete an undergraduate degree.

To be eligible to compete for the Arizona Dream Scholars Scholarship, an individual must:

• Graduate from high school this academic year (between 12/1/13 and 8/31/14) 
• Earn a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 
• Plan to pursue an undergraduate degree at a public or private college or university (start date no later than 9/30/14) 
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to the ideals of great world leaders through participation and leadership in school and community activities 

Scholars may begin their college career by entering into either a 2-or 4-year accredited college/university, as long as they stay on track to complete an undergraduate degree program.

There is no residency requirement to apply.

Dairly Council of Arizona $12,000 Scholarship

Is Your ‘Stache Worth the Cash? Dairy plays such an important role in fueling active minds and bodies. Now, dairy can also help you earn a college scholarship. Flinn Merit Scholarship for Arizona Students

Eligibility: High School Seniors graduating before July 2014, U.S. citizen and an Arizona resident, earn 1300 cumulative score on SAT Math and Reading or a 29 cumulative on the ACT, have a 3.5 or better GPA, rank in the top 5% of the class, and exhibit substantive extracurricular involvement and demonstrate leadership.

Requirements: Complete on line application including two teacher recommendations.

Award: Tuition, room and board, and fees for four years at UA/ASU/NAU--plus a study abroad program.

Helping Hands for Single Moms Scholarship

When a single mom first enrolls in college, her family situation often becomes worse before it gets better. In addition to midterms, finals and term papers, the single mom must attempt to live on inadequate financial resources while maintaining a household, managing transportation challenges, and nurturing her children. She is juggling school, family and work while facing loneliness, isolation, and low self-esteem. Together, these are significant challenges that often converge and can lead to dropping out of school. In order to facilitate success, Helping Hands for Single Moms provides a supportive program.

Helping Hands for Single Moms Scholarship requirements: 

-Any single mom living in Central Phoenix, Chandler, Gilbert or Queen Creek (within Maricopa County), OR is attending Phoenix College, South Mountain Community College, Chandler-Gilbert Community College,  Grand Canyon Univ. or the campus of ASU Downtown or ASU Tempe.
Nursing Students, Please Note: you must already be on the waiting list OR in nursing school in order to apply.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS:

• Have US Citizenship and reside in Maricopa County, Arizona
• Registered in college and have a cumulative GPA  2.8 or better
• Carry minimum of nine (9) credit hours per semester
• Have at least one child under age 11 living with you

The Tostitos Cesar Chavez Latino Scholarship Fund

The Tostitos Cesar Chavez Latino Scholarship Fund is awarding scholarships to students of Latino descent who are beginning or continuing their studies at an Arizona higher education institution. The fund provides financial assistance to qualified Latino/a Arizona students in an effort to promote academic success. Tostitos Cesar Chavez Latino Scholarship Fund recipients will be honored at the annual Si Se Puede Gala presented by the Cesar Chavez Foundation. Award recipients will be required to complete 30 hours of service to the
PepsiCo/Frito Lay Adelante Employee Group within 12 months of award.

2013 NAAAP Phoenix Scholarship Application - $500-$1000

ELIGIBILITY:

• Arizona high school seniors of Asian American descent currently attending an accredited two- or four-year public college/university in Arizona.
• College students of Asian American descent currently attending an accredited two or four year public college/university in Arizona.
• Preference will be given to students majoring in non-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field.
• Must be a full-time college student (minimum of 12 units per semester) enrolled in the Fall of 2013.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

THE AWARD:

• $500-$1000 academic scholarship to be used for educational purposes only.

• A one-time awarded scholarship with the opportunity to reapply in subsequent years.

• A one page essay about you, your intended field of study, your interests, expectations and goals
