YoungArts Program

Program is open to young artists in grades 10-12 or ages 15-18 with talent in cinematic arts, dance, design arts, jazz, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice, and writing. There is a $35 application fee, but fee waivers are available to qualified applicants.

Award: Up to $10,000

Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship

SHAPE America (Society of Health and Physical Educators)

This scholarship is for undergraduate and graduate student members of SHAPE America (graduate students may join at the time of application if not members already) who are majoring in the field of health, physical education, recreation, or dance. To qualify, applicants must be enrolled in a matriculated full-time master's or doctoral program and have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Scholarships are awarded based on scholastic proficiency; evidence of leadership; school, community, and professional activity/service; and character attributes.

Award: $1250-$1750

Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Heineken USA Performing Arts Scholarship

Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation

This scholarship is for students who are preparing to pursue or are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a field that will lead to a career in the performing arts, including drama, music, dance, opera, marching bands, and other musical ensembles. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled full-time, have a 2.5 GPA, exhibit leadership ability, and participate in community service activities. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.

Award: $3000

Pima County Youth Arts Award

The Pima County Youth Arts Award (PCYAA) is an awards program designed to identify, recognize and encourage talented high school seniors within Pima County who demonstrate excellence in the following disciplines: Dance, Music, Theater, Visual Arts, Media Arts, or Literary Arts. The PCYAA is an opportunity for young adults to showcase their talents and secure funds for educational costs at Pima Community College. Scholarships are typically made in the $1,000 to $2,000 range. Awards are made possible through collaboration between the Pima Community College Foundation and the Tucson Pima Arts Council.

Award: $1000-$2000

Jessica Karrat Dance Scholarship Fund - $500

The Jessica Karrat Dance Scholarship Fund is dedicated to providing funds for individuals who wish to participate in dance education. It seeks to provide aspiring dancers with the opportunity to fulfill their dreams whether to start a dance career or continue with their dance education.

Scholarship recipients must be residents of the United States or programs must benefit United States citizens.
A minimum award of one scholarship, in the amount of $500 per year, is being awarded to assure that the scholarship will be significant enough to provide financial assistance.
The Fund will allow recipients to attend all two and four-year colleges, universities, and dance schools in the United States. In addition, the Fund will allow recipients to also attend workshops, seminars and special dance art events.
To prevent misappropriation, each scholarship grant is issued directly from the Jessica Karrat Dance Scholarship Fund to a non-profit institution or non-profit program for the benefit of the recipient.
