MyProjectorLamps Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are in their final year of high school or are currently enrolled as college undergraduates in an accredited program in the United States. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be 16 years of age or older, have a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher, and be considered in good standing at their current institution. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must create a one-page essay detailing their ideas about the use of multimedia and data visualization in K-12 classrooms.

Collegiate Journalism Award

This award is for undergraduate students currently enrolled in a four-year college or university in the United States. To enter, applicants must submit up to three news stories that has been published in a college or university newspaper/publication or in an online version. Work published for an internship or for a class assignment is not acceptable. Entries must be news stories; commentary or editorials are not eligible. Judges will recognize students who show initiative and original reporting and superior writing skills, as well as an understanding of the principles of freedom. Quality pieces should demonstrate a skill for accuracy in reporting as well as good use of sources.

This scholarship is for high school seniors and current undergraduate or graduate college students. This scholarship is for students of Native American and Alaska Native descent who are enrolled or plan to enroll full-time at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational technical school. A GPA between 2.0 and 3.4 is desirable, as is an ACT score of 14 or above, but all current or future undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. This scholarship is for underrepresented minorities in the accounting profession (African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, or Asian American). To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students enrolled full-time, and pursuing a degree in an accounting-related major. Applicants must have maintained an overall and major GPA of at least 3.3 and have completed at least 30 semester hours of college course work. NURSE Corps Scholarship Program

NURSE Corps Scholarship Program enables students accepted or enrolled in a diploma, associate, baccalaureate or graduate nursing programs, including RN to BSN Bridge Program to receive funding for tuition, fees and other educational costs in exchange for working at an eligible Critical Shortage Facility upon graduation.

The NURSE Corps Scholarship Program is a selective program of the U.S. Government that helps alleviate the critical shortage of nurses currently experienced by certain types of health care facilities located in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). Upon graduation, NURSE Corps Scholarship recipients work at these facilities for at least 2 years, earning the same competitive salary and benefits as any new hire.

As much as half of the award funds are reserved for students pursuing a master’s level nurse practitioner degree.

Benefits

In exchange for a minimum 2-year service commitment at a critical shortage facility located in a HPSA, the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program pays:

Foster Care to Success Scholarships

This scholarship is for students who are or have been in foster care, or who are orphans. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have been in public or private foster care for a minimum of 12 consecutive months at the time of their 18th birthday; OR have been adopted or placed into legal guardianship from foster care after their 16th birthday; OR they must have been orphaned for at least one year at the time of their 18th birthday. Applicants must have been accepted into or expect to be accepted into an accredited, Pell-eligible college or other post-secondary school. Applicants must be under the age of 25 on March 31 of the year in which they first apply. Health Professions Preparatory Scholarship

This scholarship is for American Indians and Alaska Natives who are members or descendants of a federally or state-recognized tribe. This scholarship provides financial aid covering tuition and required fees for classes leading to a bachelor's degree in specific pre-professional areas as needed by Indian health programs: pre-clinical psychology (junior and senior undergraduate years), pre-nursing (courses leading to a BS in nursing), pre-pharmacy (courses leading to a PharmD in pharmacy), and pre-social work (juniors and seniors preparing for an MS in social work). Young American Creative Patriotic Art Scholarship

These scholarships are for high school students in grades 9 through 12. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must create a piece of original patriotic artwork on paper or canvas; digital work is not accepted. Applicants must be sponsored by a VFW Ladies Auxiliary or a foreign-based Auxiliary or Post and must be attending school in the same state as the sponsoring organization. Home-schooled students are eligible for these awards; foreign exchange students are not. Art will be judged on originality of concept, presentation, and patriotism expressed; the content of how it relates to patriotism and clarity of ideas; the design technique; total impact of work; and uniqueness.

A Voice for Animals Contest

This contest is for high school or home-school students worldwide who have actively participated in projects that promote the humane treatment of animals. Applicants must be younger than 19. To qualify, applicants must either establish a new project or become involved in an existing project that addresses either the mistreatment of one animal species or one cause of animal suffering, or the preservation of one species threatened with extinction, occurring anywhere in the world, and then work on that project for at least three months. This scholarship is for students who are active in movements for social and/or economic justice. Scholarships are need-based, and are awarded to students who are able to do academic work at the college or university level, and who are active in the progressive movement. US citizenship is not required; however, applicants must have participated in activities in the United States and plan to enroll in an accredited program in the United States. American Academy of Chefs High School Student Scholarships

These scholarships are for high school seniors who are eligible to graduate the same year as the scholarship application date, and have a cumulative minimum 2.5 GPA. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants currently must be accepted to an accredited college or university as either culinary arts majors or pastry arts majors, or be an ACF registered apprentice and have a career goal of becoming a chef or pastry chef. Selections are made based upon a point scale; please see application for more details.

Bob Gurnsey Scholarship Awards

The Bob Gurnsey Paintball Scholarships are prestigious scholarships awarded in tribute to Bob Gurnsey, creator of the paintball sport, to encourage higher education of today's youth in paintball. These scholarships are open to all high school senior paintball players, with the opportunity to receive a $2,500 National Award and multiple $500 Regional Scholarship Awards.

Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who will be between the ages of 16 and 25 on March 30, 2014. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have at least one full year of postsecondary studies remaining at the time of the award (current high school students are also eligible), have a 2.5 GPA or greater, and be citizens of the United States or Canada. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit two small essays, one related to travel, and the other on why they deserve a scholarship.

Nordstrom Scholarship Program

This scholarship is for high school juniors who live and attend school in a state with a Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store. Eligible states are: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have at least a 2.7 GPA throughout high school and volunteer or participate in community services or extracurricular activities. Applicants must plan on attending an accredited college or university in the United States during the four years over which the scholarship is distributed, and plan to apply for financial assistance to attend college. Applicants also must have not been convicted of any crime.
