BEF General Academic Scholarships

Boomer Esiason Foundation 

This scholarship is for students with cystic fibrosis who are pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. Scholarships will be awarded based on scholastic ability, character, leadership potential, service to the community, and need for financial assistance.

Award: $500-$2500

APHA Get Ready Scholarship

This scholarship is for US high school seniors graduating in the current year who plan to further their education at a college, university, or certified trade school in the summer or fall after graduation; currently enrolled US college or university students who will be continuing their studies at the undergraduate or graduate level in in the summer or fall of the current year; or currently enrolled US college or university graduate students who will be continuing their studies at the graduate level in the summer or fall of the current year. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit an essay on a given topic related to public health.

Award: $400

Great Lakes National Scholarship Program

This scholarship is for high school seniors and current undergraduate or graduate college students. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must plan to enroll full-time in a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) field of study at an accredited, non-profit public or private two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school in the United States for the entire 2014-2015 academic year. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, have a 2.75 GPA, and be US citizens or permanent residents. Once 20,000 scholarship applications are submitted, the application period will be over; note that this may happen before the April 5 close date, so applicants are encouraged to apply early.

Award: $2500
