Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Scholarships
These scholarships are for students in grades 7-12, who are enrolled in a public, private, parochial, home school, or after-school program in the United States, Canada, or an American school abroad. Applicants must submit original art or writing pieces. Students who advance to the national level will be considered for scholarships. Deadlines vary depending on region but are usually in mid-December - see website for more details.
Award: $1000-$10,000

Annual Kaplun Essay Contest
Morris J. and Betty Kaplun Foundation
This essay contest is for students in grades 7 through 12. To apply, applicants must write an essay in response to a given prompt related to Jewish values. Applicants do not have to be Jewish to enter. International students are eligible to apply.

Young Naturalist Awards
American Museum of Natural History
This award is for students in grades seven through twelve who are enrolled in a public, private, parochial, or homeschool in the United States, Canada, or the US territories. Citizens in a US-sponsored school abroad are also eligible. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must plan and conduct their own scientific investigation and submit their findings. Completed entries may be submitted digitally from January 1 to March 1. Sons and daughters of American Museum of Natural History employees or consultants are not eligible to enter the Young Naturalist Awards.

Nicholas A. Virgilio Memorial Haiku Competition
This competition is for students in grades 7 through 12 who are enrolled in school as of September 2014. To enter, applicants must submit up to three haiku poems.
