Eileen J. Garrett Scholarship

Parapsychology Foundation, Inc.

This scholarship is for undergraduate and post-graduate students who are attending an accredited college or university to pursue the academic study of the science of parapsychology. Funding is restricted to study, research, and experimentation in the field of parapsychology. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate a previous academic interest in parapsychology by including samples of writings on the subject.

Award: $3000

NURSE Corps Scholarship Program

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

This scholarship is for students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a professional nursing degree program (bachelor's, graduate, associate's, or diploma) at accredited school of nursing located in the United States. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must begin classes no later than September 30; be free from any Federal judgment liens; be free from existing service commitments; not be delinquent on a Federal debt; and be US citizens (born or naturalized), nationals, or lawful permanent residents. After graduation, scholarship recipients will work for at least two years at an eligible Critical Shortage Facility (CSF). Preference is given to qualified applicants with the greatest financial need who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited undergraduate nursing program or master’s nurse practitioner program as full-time students.

Award: Tuition, eligible fees, living stipend, books, supplies, uniforms

Foundation for Global Scholars Scholarships

These scholarships are for students who are studying abroad for a minimum of four weeks. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree program at a US college or university where transfer credit from an academic program abroad will be applied to your US degree being earned. Applicants also must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. Multiple types of scholarships are available.

Award: $1000-$2500

The Google Lime Scholarship

Google believes information should be universally accessible. Their education and scholarship programs aim to inspire and help students become future leaders in computing and technology by breaking down the barriers that prevent them from entering these fields.

As part of their commitment, they have partnered with Lime Connect, a nonprofit organization that supports students with disabilities while they pursue education and promising careers, to help university students with disabilities work toward their academic goals in the field of computer science. Selected students will receive 10,000 USD (for those studying in the US) or 5,000 CAD (for those studying in Canada) for the 2014-2015 school year and will be invited to attend the Google Scholars’ Retreat in the summer of 2014.

To be eligible to apply, applicants must:
  • Have, or consider themselves to have, a visible or invisible disability (See Lime Connect’s definition here) ­
  • Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the 2013­-2014 academic year 
  • Plan to enroll as a full-­time student at a university in the United States or Canada for the 2014-­2015 academic year Maintain a strong academic performance 
  • Be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a degree in a closely related technical field
  • Exemplify leadership and demonstrate a passion for computer science and technology
