Dr. Maria Teresa Velez Scholarship

Dr. Maria Teresa Velez is an Associate Dean of the Graduate College at the University of Arizona. Microsoft Scholarship Program

Microsoft Corporation

This scholarship is for students who are enrolled full-time in a bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate an interest in computer science and be making satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, such as electrical engineering, math, or physics. This scholarship is merit-based, so applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. Scholarships will be awarded based on eligibility, quality of application, displayed interest in the software industry, commitment to leadership, and financial need. Scholarship recipients will receive either a full or partial scholarship for the academic year. Also, scholarship recipients must apply for a summer internship with Microsoft; if they are accepted, they must complete the internship in Redmond, Washington. International students may apply for this scholarship, but they must be studying in North America to be eligible. US-Ireland Alliance 

This scholarship is for students between the ages of 18 and 29 who hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. The scholarship is for one year of postgraduate study in any discipline offered by colleges and universities in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Scholarship applicants are judged on academic excellence, leadership, and a sustained commitment to service and community. The Asian Women In Business Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is for women who are of at least 50% Asian or Pacific Islander ancestry (includes those who can trace their ancestry from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam). To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited four-year undergraduate institution at the time of application and award; have at least one semester/term remaining before graduation; have a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application; and have a leadership role in a community endeavor or a record of entrepreneurial achievement. They must also be US citizens or permanent residents. A larger scholarship will be awarded to students who can demonstrate financial need by submitting a copy of the FAFSA form.
