Los Hermanos de Stanford Scholarship

Scholarship is open to Latino/Latina students who are graduating from high school with plans to attend any two-year or four-year institution of higher education.

Award: Up to $1,000

Dr. Maria Teresa Velez Scholarship

Dr. Maria Teresa Velez is an Associate Dean of the Graduate College at the University of Arizona. Dr. Velez has dedicated much of her professional life to the advancement of underrepresented groups in higher education. She has focused on diversity programs and helped increase the presence of minority students in post graduate studies. She has been a tireless advocate for minority students and has mentored many Latinas as they pursued their educational goals. As a longtime Tucsonan, she has become an esteemed member of our community who encompasses the many values of Las Adelitas Arizona. Las Adelitas Arizona’s mission is to recruit, educate, and mobilize Latinas to participate in the political process and support progressive issues. This scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, has been created in her honor by Las Adelitas Arizona. For: Arizona residents, high school seniors, undergrads, Latinas or (or female identifying Latina), values academic achievement, civic engagement, leadership and the commitment to better one’s own community.

Award: $1000
