Dr. Maria Teresa Velez Scholarship

Dr. Maria Teresa Velez is an Associate Dean of the Graduate College at the University of Arizona. Dr. Velez has dedicated much of her professional life to the advancement of underrepresented groups in higher education. She has focused on diversity programs and helped increase the presence of minority students in post graduate studies. She has been a tireless advocate for minority students and has mentored many Latinas as they pursued their educational goals. As a longtime Tucsonan, she has become an esteemed member of our community who encompasses the many values of Las Adelitas Arizona. Las Adelitas Arizona’s mission is to recruit, educate, and mobilize Latinas to participate in the political process and support progressive issues. This scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, has been created in her honor by Las Adelitas Arizona. For: Arizona residents, high school seniors, undergrads, Latinas or (or female identifying Latina), values academic achievement, civic engagement, leadership and the commitment to better one’s own community.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship Award

This scholarship is for minority graduating high school seniors. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have achieved a minimum 1000 SAT score (1500 three-score) or an ACT composite score of 22. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States and be US citizens. Applicants must not possess a degree from a two- or four-year college when applying for the scholarship. Applicants must demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, financial need, and leadership potential.

Upsilon Pi Epsilon Student Award for Academic Excellence

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society

This scholarship is for active members of the IEEE Computer Society. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be full-time college undergraduate or graduate students at an academic institution and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Scholarships are awarded based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities related to the discipline of computing, and letters of recommendation.

The Sara Scholarship

This scholarship is for women who are high school seniors planning to pursue a college degree. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, excellence of character, financial need, and active engagement with the sport of golf. Applicants must have a cumulative minimum unweighted GPA of 3.1 and meet entrance requirements and plan to enroll at an accredited college or university in the United States. Skill in playing golf is not a criterion; examples include playing golf as a hobby or as part of a team; working at a golf course, as a caddy or in a pro shop; and any other direct, active engagement with the sport.

DutchCrafters Amish Furniture Heritage Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who have been enrolled or accepted for enrollment as full-time students at an accredited, four-year undergraduate institution in the United States. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have achieved a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0, have applied for federal financial aid (FAFSA) in 2013, and be US citizens or maintain legal residency within the United States. This scholarship is for college-bound high school seniors. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents. Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award

This award is for classical musicians, vocalists, and composers between the ages of 8 and 18 who have not yet entered college during the academic year 2013-2014. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be interested in performing on "From the Top," and demonstrate the following in order of importance: exceptional musical achievement, unmet financial need, solid academic achievement, and strength of character. President Barack Obama Scholars Program at ASU

President Barack Obama represents outstanding academic achievement, thoughtfulness, a long record of service to others, inspired leadership and a commitment to building strong communities across this country.
He has set new standards for what is possible in America, and encouraged people around the world to pursue their dreams.

Arizona residents admitted to ASU for fall 2014 who are degree seeking, full - time freshmen, whose total annual family income is $42,400 or less.

Award: All costs directly associated with ASU, which includes tuition and fees, room and board, and books and supplies

Ronald McDonald House Charities/HACER Scholarships

These scholarships are for graduating high school seniors who have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must carry a minimum 2.7 GPA, be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college or university with a full course of study, plan to enroll at an accredited post-secondary education institution during the academic year following their graduation, be younger than 21 years old, and be legal US residents.
