This scholarship is for students who are enrolled full-time in a bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate an interest in computer science and be making satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, such as electrical engineering, math, or physics. This scholarship is merit-based, so applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. Scholarships will be awarded based on eligibility, quality of application, displayed interest in the software industry, commitment to leadership, and financial need. Scholarship recipients will receive either a full or partial scholarship for the academic year. Also, scholarship recipients must apply for a summer internship with Microsoft; if they are accepted, they must complete the internship in Redmond, Washington. International students may apply for this scholarship, but they must be studying in North America to be eligible. Four different types of scholarships are available: General Scholarships, Women’s Scholarships, Minority Scholarships, and Scholarships for Students with Disabilities; if you'd like to be considered for these scholarships, simply mention it on your application.
