Dorrance Scholarship Programs

These scholarships are for graduating seniors in good standing at accredited Arizona high schools. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must be first-generation college students; in other words, applicants' parents or legal guardians, living or deceased, biological or adoptive, must not hold the equivalent of a four-year degree from any university. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, a minimum combined SAT score of 1040 (1530 three-score equivalent) or composite ACT score of 22, and have demonstrated leadership and community service. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and plan to attend the main campus of one of Arizona's public universities. Scholarship recipients must agree to live on campus freshman year and participate in all aspects of the scholarship program.

Award: $10,000

Arizona Community Foundation

The Arizona Community Foundation allows high school seniors and current college students throughout Arizona to apply for more than 75 scholarship awards online with one general application.

High school seniors, current college students, or graduate level students attending schools anywhere in the U.S. can apply. Scholarships are available for two-year and four-year colleges and universities as well as technical and vocational schools.

The general application opens in January each year. Students should apply early to qualify for the most awards. Some award deadlines begin in February, and some deadlines are as late as May.

The Community Foundation awards millions of dollars each year to some 2,500 nonprofit organizations, educational institutions and government agencies in Arizona and across the country. Since inception, they have invested more than $387 million in our communities through grant and scholarship funding. Our grant funding achieves meaningful, measurable results and leverages significant investments from other foundations, donors and government sources.
