Choctaw Nation Higher Education and Grant Program

These scholarships are for students of Choctaw descent pursuing a college or university education. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must have CDIB and tribal membership cards, and be able to show Choctaw descent. Applicants must be attending an accredited college or university working part- or full-time working towards a minimum of an associate's degree. Vocational technical schools, certificate programs, and correspondence courses are ineligible.

Award: $400-$2000

Otto and Edna Neely Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is for seniors at the following high schools in Arizona: Apache Junction, Basha, Camp Verde, Chandler, Desert Ridge, Gilbert, Hamilton, Highland, Higley, Mesquite, Perry, Queen Creek, and Williams Field. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better, have a demonstrated financial need, be residents of Arizona, and be US citizens. Academic students must attend an academic college within the state of Arizona, enroll full-time and complete 12 hours or more each semester in classes toward a degree program. Technical students must attend a public or not-for-profit technical school within the state of Arizona and enroll and complete a full-time course load each grading period toward a degree or certificate program. Award: $3000

Student map and poster competition

Students who’d like to display their works at NACIS 2014 should register for the Student Map and Poster Competition. We encourage all students to submit their maps and technical/research posters for a chance at a prize of $500! There is no entry fee. All entrants will be displayed in the Map Gallery, and the winner will be selected by a ballot of all meeting attendees.

Award: $500
