Contest is open to high school students between the ages of 14 and 19. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to the Bill of Rights.

FRA Americanism Essay Contest

This contest is for students in grades 7 through 12, including those who are homeschooled. To qualify for this contest, applicants must be sponsored by an FRA (Fleet Reserve Association) member in good-standing or by a currently chartered branch or unit (see website to locate your local branch or unit). To apply, applicants must write an essay of 350 words or less on the topic, "The Bill of Rights and Me." The grand national prize is an expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., to visit the White House, Supreme Court, and Capitol Hill, including a meeting and/or photo opportunity with their US Representative or Senator(s), depending upon availability.

Award: $1000-$2500
