Young Patriots Essay Contest

Scholarship is open to any American citizen or lawful resident who is currently a student in grades 6-12, or is a recent high school graduate who has never enrolled as a degree-seeking student in any college or university. Applicant must submit an essay on a given prompt on given prompts related to NSA surveillance.

Award: Up to $5,000

PanHellenic Scholarship Awards

This scholarship is for students of Hellenic/Greek descent. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have at least one great grandparent with Hellenic roots. High school graduates must have graduated from a state-certified high school in the spring of 2014, and be enrolled as full-time students in the Fall of 2014 to attend an accredited US college or university to pursue a four-year bachelor's degree. Students who graduated from a non-US high school must have completed 24 credit hours at an accredited university/college in the United States. Current college undergraduates must be enrolled full-time at an accredited US university or college and pursuing a four-year bachelor's degree. Applicants must be 25 years of age or younger at the time of application. All applicants must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA and be US citizens or permanent residents. Half of the scholarships are awarded based on financial need, and the other half of the scholarships are awarded based on merit.

Award: $2500-$10,000

Deadline: Jan. 31, 2015

Scholarship America Dream Award

Scholarship America

This scholarship is for students who have received a high school diploma or equivalent from a US school by September 2014, and are planning to complete a minimum of one full year of postsecondary education by the end of the following year. To qualify, applicants must be at least 17 years of age; demonstrate financial need; plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at the sophomore-year level or higher at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States for the entire 2015-2016 academic year; and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent). Applicants must be US citizens, US permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident Card), or individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA).

Award: $5,000 - $15,000
