College Profile: The University of North Carolina at Greensboro was founded in 1891 and is one of the three original institutions of the consolidated University of North Carolina system. Today, UNCG enrolls approximately 18,000 students; about 14,000 of those are undergraduates. UNCG's student body is diverse -- students come from 40 states and more than 70 countries, and 34 percent are minority students. Spartans often say that UNCG doesn't feel like a big school because of the friendly campus atmosphere.
