Father Michael J. McGivney Vocations Scholarship

This scholarship is for undergraduate college students who are theology majors and pursuing a vocation to the priesthood. Applicants must be men who attend a Catholic college or university and demonstrate financial need. Applicants who have appropriate ecclesiastical approval, have been accepted at a major seminary and are studying for a diocese or religious institute in the United States, its territories, or Canada, are eligible. Preference is given, but not limited to, applicants who are members of the Knights of Columbus or who are the sons of Knights.

Award: $2500

Matthews & Swift Educational Trust Scholarships

These scholarships are for children of members of the Knights of Columbus in good standing who, while serving in the military forces of his/her country in a combat zone, were killed, wounded, or determined permanently disabled. Scholarships may also be awarded to children of full-time law enforcement officer or firefighter members in good standing who, while on duty, died as a result of criminal violence. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must apply to a Catholic college or university. Scholarship applications must be filed within two years of the date of the death of the family member.

Deadline: March 1, 2014

Award: $25,000
