Youth Courage Awards

Award is open to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Two Spirit, Queer and Questioning youth activists (through age 20) who have transformed their experience with bigotry and discrimination into opportunities to inspire others by taking action, rallying support, building community, and working to change the systems and institutions that impact their lives. Applicant must be nominated.

Award: $10,000

This contest is for high school seniors who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. Also eligible are friends of people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. To apply, applicants must write an essay on a given topic.

Out to Protect Scholarship

This scholarship is for individuals who identify as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender, or a straight ally. To qualify, applicants must be pursuing a career in law enforcement; be "out" to family, friends, and peers at the academy or law enforcement agency; be recognized as a role model by their peers and supervisors; demonstrate use of the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics as a guide for decision-making; and demonstrate the ability to graduate from a law enforcement training program.

Award: $500-$1000
