100 Black Men of America Future Leader Scholarship Program

This scholarship is for high school seniors and college undergraduate students who will maintain full-time status at an accredited, post-secondary institution beginning in the fall of the current year. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater, plan to attend school for an entire academic year, and have completed 50 hours of "active" community service within the past 12 months with certified documentation. Applicants must also have leadership involvement (such as students who have held an office as a president, treasurer, etc., in high school, college, or an organization; students who have been captains of a team; students that have started an organization or developed a program or item that helped to benefit the community at large; etc.). Scholarships are awarded on an equal opportunity basis regardless of race, sex, creed, or religious preference. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit a 600-word essay addressing one of five given topics.

Award: $1000-$2000

Deadline: Feb. 28, 2014
