AAC’s Behavioral Health Academic Scholarship Program

In an effort to help those who are helping others, American Addiction Centers is excited to offer 3 scholarships for those studying in the fields of behavioral health, counseling, psychology, social work, nursing or related sciences. American Addiction Centers has facilities across the United States.

Award: $2500-$5000

Behavioral Health Academic Scholarship Program Scholarships

Students eligible for scholarships are high school graduates as of Summer 2015 and full or part-time undergraduate or graduate students who are or will be enrolled in a behavioral health, nursing, counseling, psychology, social work, marriage/family therapy program, or another program focusing on treating mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Applicants must complete a brief application form and submit an essay of 800 words or less answering the question, "Why are you interested in pursuing a career in behavioral sciences?"

Award: $5000

The HOPE Expo is a workforce development collaborative effort among human services/behavioral health agencies in Southern Arizona and local academic institutions.

Is there a charge to attend the HOPE Expo?  There is no charge to attend the expo.

Who should attend the expo? 
  • Job seekers interested in a career in human services/social work and the behavioral health field; or
  • Students interested in an internship with a local agency; or
  • If you are thinking of going back to school and want to learn about educational programs that would lead to a career in human services/behavioral health.
  • Includes On-site Professional Resume Review
  • Ethics Workshop offered at 11 am and again at 1 pm
This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet employment and internship representatives from the various social service/behavioral health agencies in southern Arizona, and academic representatives from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, Pima Community College, Tohono O’odham Community College, University of Arizona, and the University of Phoenix.
