Gates Millennium Scholars Program

Gates Millennium Scholars

This scholarship is for students who will enroll for the first time at a US accredited college or university in the fall of 2015 as full-time, degree-seeking, first-year students. To qualify, applicants must be African American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American; have a 3.3 GPA; and be US citizens. Applicants must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities, and meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. The scholarship amount is determined based on financial need, tuition, fees, books, and living expenses for the academic year, as well as the availability of grants and other scholarships reported on the financial aid award letter. Great Minds in STEM / HENAAC Scholars Program

This scholarship is for students of Hispanic origin and/or who significantly participate in and promote organizations and activities in the Hispanic community. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be majoring in science, technology, engineering, or math; have an overall 3.0 GPA; and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for the fall 2014 semester. Scholarship recipients must attend the HENAAC Conference to receive the scholarship. Non-US citizens are encouraged to apply.

Award: $500-$10000

Requirements: Nominating form from professional educator based on outstanding academic qualifications; likely to succeed in math, science, education, engineering or library science; strong leadership potential and demonstrated commitment to community service. Recommender form from adult familiar with non - academic, community and work leadership activities.

Award: Covers all unmet financial needs to attend college

Deadline: Jan. 15, 2014

Requirements:

Nominating form from professional educator based on outstanding academic qualifications; likely to succeed in math, science, education, engineering or library science; strong leadership potential and demonstrated commitment to community service. Recommender form from adult familiar with non-academic, community and work leadership activities.

Amount: Covers all un-met financial need to attend college (1,000 awards)
