This scholarship is for undocumented students of Chicano/Latino descent. An undocumented student is defined as someone who was born outside of the United States but lives here without legal permission of the federal government. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be graduating from high school or receiving their GED and enrolling for the first time in an accredited college or university in the United States or Puerto Rico for the 2014-2015 academic year. Current college students who have already graduated high school or received their GED will not be considered. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and academic potential and promise.

Award: $500

Gordon A. Rich Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for students with a parent/legal guardian who has or had a full-time career in the financial services industry who must be presently employed with five years of experience or no longer employed in the field but had ten years of experience. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be graduating high school seniors enrolling as full-time, first-year students in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited US college or university. Applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, rank in the top 20% of their class, and demonstrate financial need. They must also be US citizens or permanent resident.

Award: $12,500

NAU Lumberjack Scholars Award

Graduating seniors who have completed Northern Arizona University's 16 required college preparatory courses by graduation with a "B" or better in each course, AND earn a minimum GPA of 3.50 in the university's 16 required college preparatory courses on an unweighted 4.00 scale and presents no grade lower than a B in any of these 16 college preparatory courses. No minimum ACT/SAT score requirements.

Award: $9,000 (applicable to tuition only) for up to 4 years.

The Emma L. Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media is currently recruiting nationwide for multi-year, paid internship positions at media companies across the U.S.

Minority students who are graduating high school seniors or college freshmen, have at least a 3.0 GPA, an interest in the media industry, and plan to attend a four-year college are eligible to apply to the program. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents, and speak and write English fluently. The Emma L. Bowen Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to prepare minority students for careers in the media. The Foundation will celebrate its 25th Anniversary in 2014! The program focuses on scholastic achievement, direct work experience and professional development. Students work each summer until graduation from college and earn both salaries and matching scholarship funds. Over a period four years, the students experience numerous aspects of corporate operations and develop company-specific skills with the goal of full-time employment after graduation. The Foundation provides additional professional development opportunities at its annual summer conferences, Link Mentoring program and New Media and Technology program. Approximately 250 students currently participate as interns with 40 partner companies, including some of the nation’s largest and most influential media firms and vendors in broadcast television, cable, and film.
