1800wheelchair.com 2013 Scholarship - $500

1800wheelchair scholarship now awards two $500 scholarships each year. Past topics have explored mobility issues on campus and much more. To enter the scholarship students must follow these guidelines:

Write a poem, in a style of your choosing, on the theme of overcoming a personal challenge. Please include a personal statement about yourself and how the poem reflects on your personal experience. The poem and essay (combined) should run at 750 to 1,000 words, free feel to write a little more or less.

Participants must meet the following criteria:
  • Enrolled at an accredited high school, college or university in the U.S.
  • Enrolled at the undergraduate level or your final year of high school
  • Age sixteen (16) years or older
  • Attending a U.S. based institution
  • Carry a status of “Good Standing” - i.e. currently enrolled
  • Maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (or equivalent)
  • Post marked by May 30th, 2013
Please note:
  • There is no formal printed application from 1800wheelchair, all the information is on their web page
  • There is no requirement in terms of physical disability or ability. All applications are welcome
  • We do not accept fax or email applications
  • Please send your application via regular mail, no express mail will be accepted
  • Send your written response and contact information
  • Do not send any CD ROMs, letters of recommendations, tax returns, bank balances, resumes or CVs
